Marketing, Sales & Networking Job

I’m looking for someone to support with marketing, networking and negotiating sales, initially on a very part time basis, extremely flexible. I am passionate about increasing mental health awareness within businesses and communities, reducing stigma and improving well-being for all. I facilitate training courses, workshops and talks on a range of subjects including mental health first aid, well-being, resilience and mindfulness. You can find out more about me here:

I have been doing this for 2 years, I love what I do and I’m good at what I do. But although I’ve worked in senior leadership roles, I am not so good at networking, building relationships which will bring in business and negotiating sales.

I have huge ideas- too many maybe and want this business to grow and develop, enabling me in the longer term to give opportunities to those disadvantaged in the labour market. In order to achieve all of this I need support from someone who has a passion for my subjects with skill sets in areas I lack.

Initially this role will be a few hours or a day a week and at times to suit you. It could be around child care or other caring responsibilities or alongside another role. The aim is for the role to grow depending on your skills, self-development plan and time- I want it to be flexible so it will work for you. This is a trial for me so for first three months it will be commission only, after that we can reflect and discuss options that work for us both. This is a very different but exciting opportunity for someone to carve out a role that works for them and makes a difference to others.

If you have any questions or think this may be you please email me with why you want this role and what skills you have to offer. We can then meet informally to see how we may work together, it’s important for me to find a person with the same passion for improving well-being for all and someone with whom I can share this journey.

Can't wait to meet you, Tracy

Well-being in the Workplace

This article was featured in Market people Magazine  written for the London Insurance Market, but it's message of supporting staff in the workplace is universal.

How do you currently support mental health and well-being within your organisation? Millennials are increasing rating this as a key requirement in a prospective employer, are you missing an opportunity to stand out from the crowd?

The insurance sector is facing a time of huge change within its working models and workforce. Mergers, acquisitions and digitalisation are leading to job insecurity and fear of constant change, often causing stress and anxiety. Many long term employees are now nearing retirement and millennials will soon make up the majority of the workforce.

Let's talk about Grief

Why do we find it so difficult to speak to someone when they are bereaved? We are all going to be in that position at some point in our lives but we appear to avoid that thought all costs. When my husband Steve died earlier this year, I could see the difficulty on people’s faces trying to find the words to speak to me.

Although he had been ill with kidney failure for a few years he had gone into hospital for a live donor transplant so it was a shock when he died suddenly under anaesthetic.

In my professional life I provide mental health awareness training, I feel that the lack of positive language we have around mental health impacts on people starting a MH conversation as they fear saying the wrong thing and as I have found this year we seem to have the same problems around grief.  Read More

Importance of Creativity for Mental Health

I recently spoke at an amazing event organised by @creativeminds raising money for @mhq mental health research charity and @bellhousenews. A range of musicians, poets, artists and textile creatives shared their work and spoke about their experience of mental health. It reminded me how mental health touches all of us- whether directly or through those we care about. I share my speech from the day below:

In my daily work I work with businesses and communities increasing awareness of MH and supporting us all to find the right tools that improve our well-being, this can be different for us all- what works for me may not be right for you.

Five Ways to Well-being

We seem to live in difficult uncertain times which can have a negative impact on our individual and collective well-being. It can lead to feeling of despair and dis-empowerment. On top of that the pace of life seems to be increasing along with working hours. The constant need to be connected via social media means it is hard to switch off and recharge our batteries.

But there are small, simple and often free changes that can make a real difference to your everyday life and well-being- in turn impacting on the well-being of those around you. If you lead others will follow creating a ripple effect of positivity.

Making a choice you never wanted to make- funerals

What is it about funeral directors that makes them fit into two equally awful categories that means an already overwhelming task feel almost impossible?

When my husband, Steve died this year, I was determined to do a funeral I wanted, nothing too out of the ordinary, although you would have thought I was asking for the earth. Instead of just using the first funeral directors I found, (why are they even called funeral directors the whole thing makes me feel I have gone back to Victorian times.) Anyway, as I was saying I decided to visit a few places to find somewhere that I felt listened to me and I felt comfortable to carry out this important task alongside the family and I.
